Welcome to The Book of Melanin. By registering as a vendor or usig this platform, you agree to the following Terms of Use. Please read carefully.

Platform Overview

The Book of Melanin is a digital directory and promotional platform designed to highlight and support Black-owned businesses. We provide visibility and exposure for vendors but do not directly sell products or handle transactions unless otherwise stated.

Vendor Eligibility

Vendors must provide accurate and truthful business information, offer products or services that align with the platform’s mission, and maintain professionalism in all customer interactions. The Book of Melanin reserves the right to approve, deny, or remove any vendor at its discretion.

Vendor Responsibilities

By joining the platform, vendors agree to keep business information up to date, fulfill all orders or services promised to customers, handle all customer service matters including disputes and refunds, and ensure that all products and services comply with applicable laws and regulations.

No Transaction Liability

The Book of Melanin is not responsible for any transactions between vendors and customers. This includes, but is not limited to, product quality, delivery issues, service outcomes, refunds, exchanges, or disputes. All transactions occur directly between the vendor and the customer.

Content & Listings

Vendors are responsible for all content submitted to the platform, including business descriptions, images, branding materials, and product or service details. Content must not be misleading, offensive, or in violation of any laws or third-party rights.

Payments & Fees

Any subscription or listing fees must be paid as agreed. Fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. The Book of Melanin reserves the right to modify pricing with proper notice.

Account Termination

The Book of Melanin reserves the right to suspend or terminate vendor accounts for violations of these terms, fraudulent or misleading activity, or inappropriate or harmful behavior.

Intellectual Property

Vendors retain ownership of their content but grant The Book of Melanin permission to display and promote their business on the platform and in marketing materials.

Limitation of Liability

The Book of Melanin is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages arising from use of the platform, vendor and customer interactions, or business outcomes.

Changes to Terms

The Book of Melanin reserves the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
